Training Pilot (TP)

This course provides the simulator, ground school, aircraft or line indoctrination instructor with the tools required to excel and provide top quality instruction to his or her students. It has been designed to provide in depth practical information and instructional techniques for current instructors and those becoming training pilots. It is also useful for ACPs who will do both training and checking in the alternative Phased PPC program for CAR 702-04 operators.

Pilot training cockpitOur trainers are all highly qualified aircrew with extensive instructional experience in all facets of aviation instruction including: ground school, aircraft, simulator, line training and ab initio. Group exercises, scenarios, student presentations, videos and examples are used to develop and encourage competency in all areas of flight training. This includes aircraft, simulator, ground school and line indoctrination instructional techniques.

The Aerosolutions Training Pilot Course is modular. Trainers and ACPs attend Day 1. Day 2 is required for trainers and optional for ACPs. The Day 1 content meets and exceeds the Transport Canada requirements for this course for ACPs in a Phased PPC program.

The following topics are covered in an interactive environment during Day 1:

  • Adult learning
  • Teaching and facilitating
  • Aircraft and simulator training techniques
  • Practical exercise

The following topics are covered during Day 2:

  • Standards and student evaluation
  • Paperwork and administrative duties
  • Briefing and debriefing techniques
  • Running the training event
  • Practical exercise

The Training Pilot course can be tailored for your operation and expanded to more than 2 days upon request. The TP Course is normally provided by distance learning online via Zoom Meeting but can be delivered at your location upon request.

Course Fee:The Training Pilot Course is normally offered via Zoom Meeting upon request and the course fee is $500.00 plus HST per person for the 1-day module and $900.00 plus HST per person for the 2-day course. A minimum of 4-5 attendees is normally required. If delivered at your requested location, or tailored for your operation, the course fee is structured according to individual client requirements and includes travel time ($700/day) and expenses. Offers New Train the Trainer (Training Pilot) Course!

Aerosolutions is pleased to offer a Training Pilot Course via Zoom Meeting to meet Transport Canada requirements for current and future groundschool, simulator and aircraft instructors as well as ACPs who wish to participate in the alternative Phased PPC program (Advisory Circular AC 700-062). This train the trainer course is modular – Day 1 is for everyone including ACPs while Day 2 is mainly for training pilots. Any pilots who want to improve their instructional techniques will find this course very helpful. The Train the Trainer Course (Training Pilot) is usually offered via Zoom Meeting or in person upon request.

The TC standard for CRM training is outlined in the Transport Canada Advisory Circular AC 700-042.
